Anyone from Maine?

Hello Anyone here from Maine coast area ? if so how do you like it there ? easy to get moorings? I've been intrested in the Rockport/Rockland/Candem area for quite a while.. Heck they even got a coastal ski slope!! We where thinking about selling out on the cape for that tucked away place in that area..Of course there is the snow and cold but heck 20 here 15 there either one will keep me indoors .. If your from that area how do you like it? people friendly? Is there work for certified mechanic/licesned Cpt? or are you doomed for slelp work at home depot
The master plan sell the fishing boat for the sail, sell the 1/4 acre shack for the 20plus acre private home where i can feed the kritters and walk naked on the back deck without scaring anyone(((other than my wife that is )))

Codmander,

I hate to break it to you, but there is NOBODY from Maine. Maine is largely a fictitious place, much like New Brunswick, with settlements drawn on maps to make our country appear more populated than it really is -- this to discourage invasion. I know, I have been there. Once you get past LL Bean in Freeport (which is nothing more than a Hollywood set), it is a complete void.

For national security reasons, I will have to delete this post later.

a'yuh. Not curently, but I lived in the Stonington area for about 12 years.

I don't know what your budget is, but property can be very expensive near the coast. Not compared to the Cape, though.

Employment is problematic. The Cpt. work would be highly seasonal (10 wks?) if you were lucky enough.....

Mechanic, esp marine mechanic, would be a better bet. Rockland would be a good place to start.

I might have some good ideas for you,

PM me and we can trade email.

Fred

Don't liten to Ajari, he clearly is on the government payroll -- part of the vast conspiracy.

I'd like to discuss this further, but I have to sign-off now. There's a non-descript car parked out front and some guys in dark suits are knocking at my door.

Maine is absolutely beautiful. But it only has two seasons: winter and 4th of July weekend.

And the sailing season is about three days long, unless you like sailing in fog and snow.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
