Merry Christmas...even if you're a bit early... I hope you all get something nice from Santa.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Merry Christmas to you & yours too, Alex. And to all of you on Sailnet.

As far as being early, the ads and christmas music have been up and around since Halloween!

And, a few miles up the coast from you my relatives in Holland have already had their "SinterKlass" day, Dec 6 when the children leave their shoes out overnight to be filled by a not-so-jolly old elf. They celebrate the traditional Dec 25th as well.

Anyhow, for me the season is the buildup and anticipation, the social gatherings and the generally happier/kinder than normal attitudes (scrooges excepted). By Boxing day I'm ready for sun, summer and sailing....

We put the Christmas tree in December 6th, and the spirit starts in December 1st.

But since only now I found out when I am going home from this assignment, I am in the last days of work and soon be united with my family for a most important date and event for us, Christmas.

HO HO HO, because we can still say it...
