Center board jams..Help

I have a 1981 25'' O''Day and sometimes the center board jams (or the cable/line snags on a burr somewhere in the thru way). Can anyone offer suggestions what to look for, how to fix. Also where can I get replacement stainless steel cable (attaches to center board fitting) and swaged on nylon line (comes up to cockpit cleat). Thanks for any help. Bruce
