You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Valiente will become famous soon enough
There's breaking a record, and then there's smashing it to pieces...the thought of handling a 97 footer solo is incredible, but the thought of admiring a Frenchman is even more daunting!!

They do that to you.... It takes guts, determination and a lot of luck.

The ride must have been damn uncomfortable..

Apaprently the night he docked he spent the night......sleeping on the boat.

Round and round

I really enjoyed watching the progress he made and admire his success. Lattitude 38 had good coverage in their electronic edition. The "official site" http://www.trimaran-idec.com/ was in French (big surprise huh?) but google language tools did a decent translation. The result was huge. He's cemented himself as a legend.

For timed races trimarians should have to do three laps, cats 2, etc. Just to keep it fair.
