Spirit 100 -- Not In My Wildest Dreams, But...

While catching up on my reading, I came across a quick mention of the fact that Spirit Yachts have launched their much anticipated 100'.

Technical Specifications:

LOA 100'0" 30.6m
LWL 70'7" 21.6m
Beam 19'0" 5.8m
Draft 12'0" 3.7m
Displ. 44 tonnes
Ballast Ratio 35%
Sail Area 4566 sq ft. 427sq.m.

Great numbers for a boat this size. She may just make cold-molding sexy!

Note how "simple" and understated this boat is. How refreshing!

(I wonder what the varnishing budget is.)

TB,
I think your wife would like that one. You should go for it now that you've got all that money from the sale.

Suppose it's OK, but I don't like teak decks or the idea of a large, hunky, male crew. And 12' draft, I guess, would put you alongside the cruise ships in Nassau, but without the fringe benefits!

PS. Ragnar - varnish = 3 x total cost of your (or any normal) yacht.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! She definitively has the most classic lines I have seen in a long time. Not sure about the sky lights over the main salon, but I think I could manage. Although not very practical, I could not imagine putting lifelines on her.

Has anyone actually seen one of these "in person"?

I like how simple everything is for a 100' yacht. When they get that size, they start going extra crazy with all the "features". This one is nice and sleek with just enough class, not too much. Down below is very nice too. Dignified not over the top gaudy.
