No, that wall was raised in 2005, and the lower wall creates a step.

From above it looks like a track but it is not.

The stones you see now are much bigger.

See when we get the Swells, they reach that wall sometimes at 15 foot or more and roll along the wall sometimes spill water inside.

So more stones were added and the breaking stones added.

Here is a video taken from the beach in front of the marina, that gives an idea of the swell height in the marina walls.

My daughter and near-future son-in-law (July 08 wedding), surfed those waves off Cascais in 2004. They showed us video footage they had taken, but I don't think it's on YouTube. We are meeting up with her for dinner in Newport tonight and I will ask for details.
