Renting a boat?

My friend and I are getting a grant to go sailing and we were wondering if there's any way to rent a boat for 8 weeks and who to contact. We were thinking of a 25ish foot sloop. We're on a tight budget with the grant so we're looking for the best deal possible. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

We might need just a little more info.
Do you know how to sail?
Where are you?
Where do you want to rent?
What kind of sailing do you intend to do?
Define "tight budget".
How many are going?

Rent? Probably not. Charter? Probably, in certain locations, and IF at least one of you has credentials from some sailing school or a sailing resume, and passes an exam sail with the charter company.

Of course, if you don't provide more specifics you are going to get terribly vague answers.

Solar power.... and how it affects (or is that effect) big hoo-haa'd broads in saran wrap thongs...

I'd need to study the affect, or is that effect of wasted days and wasted nights awash in post-coital bliss with big hoo-haa'd broads in saran wrap thongs...

Where the hell is my Bullshite writing to get gubbmint monies software anyway?
