Need a name for my Merit 25.

Just thought I'd get some other opinions. I do like the play on words, "High Heels", but I'm a little partial to Audrey as well. I'd prefer a woman's name, but I'm coming up short. I know there's a thousand answers to this questions, but naming a 25' boat VICTORIA doesn't really make sense to me. Any suggestions? I've been thinking about this for 4 months and am still drawing a blank. The name on the boat now is FINS. Doesn't have any sentimental value to me, and certainly isn't romantic.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hmmm... a simple play on words: Combine Merit and the woman's name Merideth, and you have MERITETH. Throw in a third word, marine, and you could have MARITETH. Either one can be pronounced just like the woman's name, Merideth...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Patience is a nice woman's name, and something in great need on a 25 ft boat with a max speed of 6 knots or so.
I'm partial to the name so I'll admit my bias.

Many Bay Area Merit 25s are named after old TV programs. I don't know why. Let's see, there's "Bewitched", Twilight Zone", "Mission Impossible"...

Very good suggestions. I'm not a fan of the TV show names, but I have seen those a lot, I should ask why on the merit yahoo group...interesting.
ChucklesR, ain't that the truth, won't be breaking any speed records.

sailingdog, I do like Audrey, reminds me Hepburn. Very classy, and probably deserse to be on a better boat, but I may use it.

Sounds like it will take a "Second Effort" to name her!
