Northwest Passage Attempt for TV Show
Hello SailNet Community:

I am a producer who works for a non-fiction television production company, and we are interested in producing a program about the "recently-opened" Northwest Passage. Specifically, we are interested in filming a crew who wants to make the trek, or one of similar scale and historical pertinence.

This is a serious post -- we do understand the magnitude of this undertaking (at least, I believe we do). The Northwest Passage is no walk in the park; clearly it is the journey of a lifetime. And that is why we would like to tell such a story.

If anyone is interested, or has any thoughts on the matter, I would like to hear from you. Feel free to reply to my post, or e-mail me in person:

Northwest Passage 2011 Expedition - 55' M/V GREY GOOSE
Chateau et al SailNet members,

We still have two open berths for our Northwest Passage 2011 Expedition.
Here is my contact information if you are interested in joining - this is a share-a-ride voyage and all expenses are being split between the 8 crew - right now its about $10,000 each and is expected to rise from increases in fuel and Arctic foods.

Requiring 5 posts to contact another member
I think the SailNet policy requiring an authenticated member to have five (5) posts is rediculous - what does the number of posts have to do with contacting a member with a private message - only alternative is to post a reply to his post.

I'll take your advise under consideration.

Smooth seas,

Chill out dog, he's not selling anything. It's common practice and ethical to share the expense of a sailing adventure. I for one, like to see posts like that. I wish them luck.
