Finally took Oh Joy out solo

It was my 52nd B-day yesterday and it was gorgeous so I celebrated by taking the big boat out solo. It was great, with the exception of running aground at the entrance to the marina for about 10 minutes. What was strange is that I'd been through there at low tide before without issue. I guess it was EXTRA low yesterday. Ah well, no harm, no foul. I was a bit concerned about docking but the landing was almost perfect. All in all, it was fun.

Happy Birthday... and the running aground was Murphy's gift to you. But he was obviously in a good mood, and let you off lightly.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I got a nice bag of good coffee and a CD. Everybody's broke, as usual but the solo sail made the day. Now it's over 60F, breezy, sunny again and I'm here trying to figure out how to get back out on the boat this afternoon.
