Brunch spots on SF Bay

SF Bay Sailors, what are your favorite boating brunch spots?

I have been to Sam's a number of times and down to Jack London Square a few times but I'd like to try something new. What is the dock situation like at the Ramp in the city? I sail a Alden 44. Can I fit on the dock there? I have been there by car in the evening and it didn't look like they had a lot of space. I'm tempted to anchor near by and dingy in. Is there a good spot to anchor? Are there other restaurants you recommend?

Hi dad,
I think you have found the best spots already, but I will offer up what little I know. One of the things I don't like about sailing on the Bay is that it is not geared towards cruising. I think its just a factor of weather and geography.

As for the Ramp, you shouldn't have to worry about draft as SF boat works is there and it has a channel for the ship repair yard. Not sure about the dock, the Ruby is there and she is 62'. I would check with SF Boat works about the dock.

South Beach has a guest dock and there are some good restaurants around there. Momo's is good, although pricey.

You could also try the SF Marina. There are lots of eaterys on Chestnut street which is about a four block walk. The crowd is young though.

If you make it down to Half Moon Bay, there is good seafood right there at the marina as they bring it in fresh. Morro Bay and Bodega are the same way.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but Boulevard is a great place, has won all kinds of awards. They don't do brunch, but do serve lunch. Here is a link with a map. Of course I have no idea if you can dock anywhere near there.

I second Half Moon and Bodega....isnt there a great brewery at Half Moon. I think we stopped there last year on our car trip up the coast to Mendicino and our week and one half in Napa/ Sonoma? It had some great food and great views. If I rememeber the maina was behind some huge breakwater.

If you're in Half Moon Bay, you can't beat the Three-O' Cafe, though it's a bit of walk from the marina. Still, it was about my favorite breakfast spot in the entire Bay Area.

If you're in the South Beach area, Reds Java Cafe was always good for a morning bite, though I don't know if they have brunch. The marina in Sausalito also use to have decent breakfasts, again not sure about brunch.

There is more than one place along the waterfront in Sausalito that you can dock at; plenty of boaters head in there for lunch. Have you been to Quinn's Lighthouse; south of Jack London Square, (Oakland side of the slew between Oak. and Coast Guard Island)? Great place for lunch/dinner/bar.

Latitude 38 had a long list of waterfront restraunts last year; I think they post them annually around the "Opening Day on the Bay" time of year (if there is such a thing).

I don't know the bay very well, but I'll throw in another vote for the brewery at Pillar Point(Halfmoon Bay), we stopped in there last weekend. If you come a little further down to Santa Cruz the bar food and view at the Crow's Nest is hard to beat.
