Mixed emotions

Well, I paid my 2008 slip fees today. I'm ecstatic to have a place to keep my boat with amenities enough to keep the wife and kids happy and keep me sailing and living the marina life. But it's always hard to part with the cash. Let this season's boat budget begin to dwindle!

No, there really isn't much of a point to this thread other than to lament and rejoice having the slip paid for for another season.

Carry on! :)

Consider your self happy, I pay $ 11.600.00 US for a year's worth of Marina (7950 Euros)

$88 a foot here in New York

That's why they make anchors :)

I am still looking for a slip for the 2008 season. Where I am at, is for on the hard only they have no room for me. I want a place with no amenities in the chesapeake, Delaware or Southern Jersey. I go to the boat to go sailing so the cheaper the better. (g)

Agreed. But the wife and kids enjoy the pool and marina community too much to spend the summer on the hook/mooring.

I'm not bitching...rather just sharing.

Know what you're saying. I miss all the great folks at the marina when I was on a lake. Becomes like family.

Good attitude...that's the spirit..

When i was young I decided I wanted to smoke, off course no one in my family wanted me to smoke (it was consider a bad class thing and decent boys don't smoke, not ht ehealth hazzards), so they never gave me money to buy cigarrettes.

My garndmother used to say, if you can't afford your vices, don't have vices, more or less...

That's my opinion...people here bitch (not you) left and right about how expensive sail bots are, and hardware and this and that....it is bla bla bla...most normal people can't afford a sail boat...remember that..

It's like people that complaint they starve after having eaten

Free,
Having just paid for my slip in Longport NJ I can tell you that you'll not find a cheap slip in Southern Jersey. Maybe in the back bays somewhere.
