How did you find your way to Sailnet ?

How did you find sailnet ?

I was told about it by a sailing friend and stopped by now and then for a couple of months before I joined.

I was close to buying a Cabo Rico 38 and Googled CR38. Came up with some posts on Sailnet about the boat. They were well informed posts and it seemed like a good site to join. Time has proven that to be correct plus some.

Was looking for info on different boats this time last year, hoping to buy a small one to sail on the lakes around Atlanta. Started to read the various threads, found the humor addictive and the advice interesting. Now I check in almost everyday. Still don't have a boat as the drought is hard on the lake levels and the kids, wife, and job are hard on the spare time...

I google "sailing forums" because I've had positive experiences with other forums about my hobbies/passions.

Sailnet showed up on some google searches when I was researching boats and looking for reviews. I only read from the "boat reviews" section for months before I ever ventured over to the forums.

What a mistake that was. ;-)

Looking for boat reviews and found sailnet. Like a lot of others used the review section for a while before I ventured into/onto the forum.

Was going to buy a brand new Oyster 62 (with cash, go cruising). Did an internet search and found Sailnet. FOllowed the advice here and bought a Catalina 400 (with a high interest rate note, keep my job) instead. You just cannot put a price tag on what I have learned and the great suggestions. Thanks guys!!!

Been hooked ever since.
