Taylor fenders- are you chucking them?

I hope everyone here knows Taylor fenders are guaranteed for life? It seems to be the best kept secret in the boating world.

I just went up to take my trash out (11pm CA time) and there were two large Taylor's sitting next to the dumpster, both of them completely destroyed. WM price on these is 90 bucks a piece. Take them into any Taylor dealer (WM) and they will give you new ones without any questions, that's 180 bucks in fenders. It's just bizarre how often this happens to me, at least 3 to 4 times a year, but not always with sizes I can use like tonight's haul.

I'm not a dumpster diver by any means but people are just throwing away money. Anyways, please as sailnet members don't throw your Taylors away, I'm running out of storage space and I'm sure you'd really like to get your new fenders for free.

I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Mine are getting pretty worn.

Good information. I use other peoples' less than perfect fenders to line my slip's side like a row of cushions. It makes me more willing to dock aggressively when the wind is not favouring my efforts.

Thumbs up

I took advantage of the lifetime warranty replacement when two of mine developed cracks on the eyelets causing them to leak. That was considered a defect and they replaced them. They do not cover punctures though, so if you have a small pin hole leak, they will not replace them. That is what I learned in my experience. Still a great warranty program. My local West Marine took care of it for me.

Thanks for that info- I was not aware, and one of my big Taylors is looking a bit rough. Even better- we see tons of them floating around after a storm! Never would have thought of snagging one, as they usually look pretty rough...

Now, what about Edson parts?

Can't get ours to deflate or wear out. It's been 10 years now. Guess we'll have to keep trying.
