Is that Shannon Yachts retractable keel cruiser?

edit: the shoalsailer...it has no retractable appendages

Get a tug and pull it off the beach -- that is, unless the cost of the salvage exceeds the value of the boat, in which case the local community has an eyesore in the making.

the follow up video:

I like how some youtube know it all jackhole claimed:

johnthunder2001:
Muppets who cant sail should be banned from doing so.
I have recovered many boats like this with inexperienced crews just using an anchor and the water.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
Learn some real skills.

CusterFlux :
ok, what's the anchor water trick?

johnthunder2001:
You know I get asked that all the time.
Just chuck the anchor into the sea as the tide it rising, the boat naturally swings round and gets dragged back into the sea.
Works better on a spring tide, however you can do it on a low tide but you may need to assist it.

I guess they should have called Johnthunders Salvage Operation, sounds like a piece of cake from where he's sitting.

The boat was destroyed by a tropical storm on May 8, 2007. It's long gone.

Hey, that was interesting. Presumably there was no insurance, otherwise one would expect the salvage tugs could have puller her off?

By the way, that was no Shannon (Shoalsailer or otherwise). It was a much larger schooner rigged yacht.

Would be interesting to know more details about the boat and what happened.

Walt Shultz is the founder and owner of Shannon Yachts - there is no "Mr. Shannon" . I met him briefly along with Bill Ramos - VP, when I was considering the purchase of a Shannon a few years ago . . . when money was growing on trees.
