The guy took off in a 22' PB and motored right into the middle of this pod. One Orca that went under him was 30'

He's lucky the Orcas didn't take offense and turn him and the boat into so much flotsam.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Were restricted to 3 or 500 feet here in PNW...There is just to much harassment otherwise...Whale watching charters are quite the big Business in the summer here and in BC...But if they come to you thats ok.

One reason I don't kayak on the open ocean.

No, These came to him, we have the same restrictions. Last spring I sailed into a pod of Risso's ( around 30 ) and that was an awsome sight, but not like the day this guy had

The name killer whale is a misnomer

AFAIK the only recorded events involving orca attacks on humans were in captivity. We were told by a scientist named Ingrid Visser who specialises in orca research that there are no recorded events that describe orca attacks on humans in the wild.

No doubt there will be folks on this forum that will prove her wrong and the video flighted earlier is hardly an attack, it's a guy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. If an orca had attacked him he would have been lunch.
