Need new opinions on old boat

I hope someone can give me some insite? I'm looking at a 1970 Morgan 38
Center board classic sloop. I will be using it for coastal cruising,SE. Florida, weekend get aways, No racing, Just relaxing, and a few trips to the Bahamas. Is there anything that I should be on the look out for? and structual problems anyone can remember? How do they sail etc...
Thanks very much for your input.

Morgan centerboard?

If you check around, I think you'l find that some people had trouble w centerboards and went as far as closing them permenantly. We got a Morgan 77 Out Island and it only draws 3 1/2 feet. We had a Morgan Classic till last year and got the second one, knowing its a solid boat. May not sail too pretty but we and the grandchildren love it.

Did you mean a 1977 Morgan OI Joesaila? as opposed to a 77 footer?....maybe I just read it wrong.

I've been looking at boats for quite a few years and I absolutely LOVE the 41' Morgan OI's.......

I've even had brokers apologize for their looks before....till they found out I love em.....

anyway..it's on my very short list of dream boats.......

Watch for a leaky hull/deck joint.
