Andrew, TDW, do you remember, before you took me to my sailing club today you told me to win the 100 kids race for you?

wel I got not in 1st but in.................. 2nd

it was a four clubs regata.. CNL,CNC,SAD,ANL

I started in 4th then to 1st but, then somebody rushed and got in front of me

I was not paying attention on last turn.

Today I am trully and really proud of Fred.

Fred had a race with 99 other Optimists form a total of 4 clubs, it was important because his level and the next level, the B level raced all together...and sponsored by a rental car company.

me and TDW took Fred to the club and on the way in he was very quiet, and concentrated...

TD was telling him to win, wishing him good luck and all... I was very nervous too. But he showed TD his Opti with pride of a 10 year old...and took a few photos..

The race started and I went home to pick up my wife and Luis..on the way back to the club I could see them racing in the ocean...I wondered which one was him...strong winds today.

When the kids arrived, Fred was all wet and shivering with cold, but he was the first on the ramp to gets the boats out of the water, a previlege for the first 2nd a 3rd places...as I was saying he was all wet and shivering..he looked really sad and cold....I thought...my poor boy capsized....and came home earlier...hence the place on the ramp...~


When he saw me he got up and starte shouting I GOT 2 I GOT 2 !!!

His frineds were all shouting he had a 2nd place...I couldn't believe it...

He had calculated his start to the meter, started 4th. lead the whole race and lost on the last turn to a much faster kid...still...for me It's wonderfull.

His coach was proud with him, but mad because Fred did not pay attention and allowed the other kid in...

So I told Fred he could chose any thing he wanted (he asked for a Wii game), and I offrerd to buy him dinner anywhere he chose...he had heard Joel and Jayme say they went to a Maxican restaurant...so that's where we had dinner in his honour...

Oh..he was wet because with the joy..he went for a swim...on the ride to return home!!

I think 2nd out of 100 is an amazing accomplishment in your old, slow, boat Fred. Just think how you would do with a new one if only your Papa was nice to you!! ;D
