Where to rent a trailer???

Howdy,

I'm over here in California and I'm curious if anyone knows where I can rent a trailer for my fixed keel Cal 27'.

I'm pretty much open to rent the trailer from anywhere in California, but I'd prefer LA. If not somewhere in LA then in SF and if not there anywhere else would be fine.

I keep looking on Google and other search engines to find out who rents them out but I'm just not having any luck.

Thanks for the help guys

Steve

Try craigslist or Sailing Anarchy.

Sailboat trailers are pretty tough to find as rentals... unless you're talking a hydraulic trailer. Check with boat transport companies about that. Rental of them is fairly pricey though. Why do you need a trailer for a Cal 27?

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Talk to some of the boatyards in the area. Sometimes they have them. If not and you are doing this for a one time - consider just getting a boat hauling company to do it (again refer to dockyards) - it will probably be cheaper in the long run and you won't have to do any of the work. Thats how I transported mine(C-27 fixed keel) - and even my F-350 would of had a hard time trailering it - as you really need the hydraulic extenders to navigate them into tight spots etc...For a 30 mile trip (non highway miles)- it was around 500-700 (I have mine parked now in my driveway so that included stands)...plus you do not have to worry about the legal requirements as it would be considered a wide load...
