The winter from Hell has past and we are ready for splashing.
Maybe, we will be sailing next weekend.
Thanks for your help Guy!
Come on over for the inaugural sail of '08.

Sailors around the Great Lakes are rejoicing! I visited my slip and marina on Sunday. There's already about 30 boats in the water here and I was told by the manager we can launch whenever we're ready.

I'm working like a mad man to finish up my spring "boat list" so I can be in the water within a week or two.

Let's see who gets splashed by the chilly Lake Michigan waters first!!!

Our club's mass launch is this-coming weekend and Abracadabra's ready to go. Bottom is painted, packing gland is re-packed, engine starts up and runs like a clock, and she got a bath yesterday.

Saw a couple of the serious racer types yesterday burnishing the bottoms of their boats. So I took a half day vacation tomorrow and I'm going to do the same .

Unfortunately we might not be able to get the stick up until next weekend. And if not then, then not until the weekend of the 17th . (Poor planning on my part.)

Jim

I'll be down at the marina tomorrow. Hope she'll be going in on Thursday or Friday.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Two weeks till splash. The nice thing about the north Lake is that if you put your beer next to the hull and throw a rug or something over it.....you don't need ice till the 4th of July! Isn't life grand?
