Currituck Sound in NC--deep enough?

Have a good friend with land near coinjock and was wondering if anybody had any experience with a daysailor or the like on that body. From the charts it looks quite shallow and mostly no navigation marks, but was wondering if anyone has hear of others using it for daysailing? North of the 158 bridge to the outer banks. thanks.--Steve

camaraderie is a jewel in the rough camaraderie is a jewel in the rough camaraderie is a jewel in the rough
You need an absolute daysailor with centerboard and no more than a couple of feet draft. Plenty of territory but not much water!

I have a dinghy I often sail around the area, works fine. The big boat sticks to the channel though. I draw 3'2" board up, and don't often chance going out of the marked lanes in that area. A shoal draft daysailor would be great, like Cam said, lots of territory to be explored. If you get up around Tull's Bay, look for a raggedy lookin' FJ or a maroon hulled Grampian. That's me!
