The OP [ now an Old Age Pensioner - this thread has gone on so long . . . ] has just had his first taste of life @ sailnet - and is appalled, impressed, astonished and inspired. So - rather like an evening round my place then. [Must remember to get more wine in next time - you do seem to get through it, don't you?]
In future I shall be much more searching and specific. Expect tea and biscuits.

It was/is a nice thread. Very entertaining. Hell how bad could it be there was a picture of my boat in it three times.

Does rum go well in tea?
