Can a new dacron sail be airbrushed?

I have a new sail that needs a little something, but numbers are unnecessary and who cares if it is a Potter.
What paint could be used

sails are usually screen printed with this type of ink

airbrush media is usually Acrylic or water based and will probably no doubt fade after a short time, and airbrush artists are not cheap. sure you want to go that route?
