Observations of a new boat owner.....

...Old Teak..... = Where of 80 grit sandpaper goes to die a quick death

...Needs TLC... = Boat has been sunk in 1,000 fathoms of salt water for 3-4 years

..."For best results apply several coats, sanding lightly between"... = 8-10 coats and lots of sanding between

..."I need a snap shackle"... = $34.95 at West Marine 'cause the PO used a bolt & nut to hold the jib on... (now I see why)

...The gate valve as sea ****... = Nope, I got nothing, I'm out of material!

Anyone care to add anything to the above list? Boat owning isn't for quitters!

Seriously, all the wood has at least 1 coat of Epifanes on it (some pieces have 3 coats) and I have made a deal with the boys at the airport to borrow the spray booth and respriator to paint the beast when I get to that point. I am pretty satisfied that the boat is Biscayne Bay worthy gonna go shake it out a few weeks!
