I know very little about sailing would like all the help I can get

I bought a old hobie cat 18 and am trying to learn all I can about them. It needs new sails, thought maybe I would start with some used ones.Where would be a good place to look for them? I have sailed a little hobie cat 12 before but know very little about an hobie cat 18. I not real sure I know the right way to set it up.

Welcome, and congratulations.
I doubt there are a lot of used sail dealers in Neb. but here in St. Pete a company called Masthead Enterprises deals in used sails. I don't have their phone number right now and I don't know if they would ship or not. Might be worth checking out though.
You may want to try Ebay too.

As far as setting the boat up. There are lots of people here who will be glad to help you figure out any problems you may run into. Let us know.

You can score some "scuffs" on eBay. Lots of new sails, for cheap enough that you won't be so worried about making mistakes with them.

I'd highly recommend you pickup a copy of Dave Seidman's The Complete Sailor. It is an excellent book for sailors of all abilities, and well-written, easy-to-read and illustrated with good drawings.
