I need some assistance in finding a boat type, that I saw a year ago in the Keys. I was very new to sailing, had just bought my P323 and sailed from Tampa to the Keys. Now I am looking to buy a bigger boat, and was on another boat in the Keys visiting, but it was the first sailboat I had ever visited on, and don't remeber clearly what is was. All I can remeber is as follows; don't need to contact the people (it would be a bonus), but would like to know the make of the boat.
The owners: Live in the Charlotte harbour area, just moved from the east coast USA where he ran a kayak shop. She is a school teacher.
The boat: Most noticeable feature in my mind was the very long boom, almost to the stern. Vintage early/mid '70s, very well restored. Length approx. 38'-42'. Large cockpit, with long
seats. Galley to starboard at bottom on companionway, with nav to port. There were only a few steps from the cockpit to salon, very easy access. Boat was just purchased from east coast where I believe an engineer(?) had started the rebuild and done most of the exterior work but had taken apart the interior and it was sold that way. The boat would hae been moored outside a condo in Charlotte area.
I seem to recall the name was a wordplay, something about retirement (I think).
That is all I can remember, perhaps someone can recognize this boat and respond. I have looked thru all the yachtworld listing covered by this but no joy.
