To those familiar w/ Annapolis
Well,
It's my vacation. Winds gusting to 50, sea in a fiery rage so I'm off to Annapolis. (By car bahhhh) Was hoping a few of you all may suggest a few good places to get gear etc. Really just there to drool but definitely could handle a few select items. Winches, foulies, misc. cabin fodder. Any good used places, consignments, bargain basements I should check out?

Bacons ( Bacon Sails) has all sorts of new and used stuff on consignment (though on my last visit I got a distinct impression they have less used stuff than they used to).

If you go by PCI, you might get a chance to go out on a test sail on a Telstar 28.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Bristol, if you are in and about Annapolis I would seriously stop by PCI if you can and take a factory tour - even if you don't want and never consider a catamaran or trimaran it may be one of the few chances you get to see how boats are built.

Brak,
On the contrary, Chesapeake Light Craft has a small but neat showroom crammed full of their products. Immediately adjacent to which is their build shop, where you can peek at many of their products in production. Well worth a visit for anyone in the area.
If it seemed a bit deserted last week it may have been because they were getting ready and/or setting up at Camp Letts for their annual Okoume Fest -- a big on-the-water extravaganza where you can demo all their offerings and enjoy some fine food too. I had the enviable assignment (as a volunteer) of skippering the just-launched, brand new design called "Pocketship" for the day (taking interested folks out for a sail):
