And I hate to say West Marine, but the Annapolis West Marine (Bay Ridge Road and Hillsmere) is pretty huge and fun to browse. Your choice as to whether you buy anything. There's also a great liquor store (Bay Ridge Wines) next to West that has Pyrat's Cask Rum and other specialty alcohols...

McGarvey's Saloon & Oyster Bar and The Boatyard Bar and Grill are 2 places not to miss while in town. Then you go check out Fawcett's and you wont keel over at the prices!

Enjoy your trip, as they say Annapolis is "A drinking town with a sailing problem."

Cheers!

Well, perhaps my bad luck then I'll make sure to pop in next time I am at Colliflowers buying anything.

If it seemed a bit deserted last week it may have been because they were getting ready and/or setting up at Camp Letts for their annual Okoume Fest -- a big on-the-water extravaganza where you can demo all their offerings and enjoy some fine food too. I had the enviable assignment (as a volunteer) of skippering the just-launched, brand new design called "Pocketship" for the day (taking interested folks out for a sail):

Jeez... if you want to talk food - Buddy's for Sunday Brunch (one of the best brunch's I've had). Cantler's for crab and steamer's. Joss Cafe for sushi - one of the best sushi places I've EVER been, including NYC, Boston and Seattle. Best nutty buddies - the homemade ones they pass over the fence by the Island Packet display during the Annapolis Boat Show. Best salad bar - Chart House Restaurant - it's a sort of chain (15 restaurants or so nationally), but a very high quality one. Adam's Ribs East is probably the best BBQ place in town - make sure to order the bucket of shrimp. The best liquor store is Bay Ridge Wines & Spirits right next to West Marine. The Wet Dog cafe at Port Annapolis Marina has awesome sandwiches for lunch and good stuff for breakfast. Jack's Fortune is probably one of the better Chinese places - corner of Edgewood and Bay Ridge. I could go on... boy I miss having my boat in Annapolis and having an excuse to go down every 2-4 weeks.

I second Joss as one of the best sushi places or Tappan I have ever been to. Tsunami on West Ave for Pacific Rim Cusine. Buddys for crabs of course and the Bpatyard in Eastport is great as well as carolls Creek in Eastport. I like UK Sails in Eastport. I have also deposited a few thousand in the West Marine on Hissmere. Fawcetts btw is in deep financial trouble and has been for about 2 yeras, Delivery drivers I here are on a COD basis for some suppliers.

We love taking the 6 hour cruise and picking up a mooring taking the water taxi in and hanging out on the Naval Achadmey grounds. There is nothing like taking a moring and being the "pick" boat for the wednesday night racs in the harbor.

Just returned from Lemon Grass on West Street and stopped at Bay Ridge Wine and Spirits on my way back to the boat! Now I must go to Joss'-is it really that good? I think Chef gave you a great list of places. If you go to the Sailrite store you'll at least THINK you can sew by the time you leave and Dan will entertain you while you're there. They have new hours-so check before you go. If you boat browse at Jabins stop by F dock and I'll give you a brush and you can do a bit of varnishing! If you haven't toured the Naval Academy make sure you go to the ship model museum. It's in the basement of their museum and well worth the time. Also a nice little book store. I don't remember when you're coming-but the Blue Angels will practice on May 20 and perform on the 21 st. Annapolis...what a great place.

I didn't know about the museum at the NA...cool I'll have to check it out...and Dan of Sailrite is a trip

Joss is that good, its one of the best sushi places I have ever been too, the only place I've been that's better is Nobu's in New York or his original, Matsuhisa's in Los Angeles.

Just ate at the Boatyard last week, very disappointed with my sandwich but the soup was decent

Lemongrass is hot, ate there once about a year ago and was good, cousin just ate there and thought is was awesome!
