This was made with the photos that TDW took with his camera during his visit to Portugal. I put them together and put the song.
The music style in this video is called FADO, and basically means faith..it's a secular Portuguese style of song that portrays heart felt sadness, but at the same time, it transmits joy and happiness, tells history, talks about the sea, the boats, the fishermen etc...

It is normally related to the sea, but also sings about love, broken hearts, sadness, towns, people dead or alive, etc..I know it must be hard for you English speaking folks to understand, and probably to you, non Portuguese it means nothing..still, I tried..at least hear the tune. But I am curious to know if you like it, because the foreigners, when they visit us fall in love with the FADO.
Its a song style that only exists in portugal and is allways played with a Portuguese Guitar, a unique instrument that is said to cry when it plays..with a Iberian guitar and a bass guitar to support, which you can hear in the background behind the Portuguese guitar.
The Portuguese Guitar is a 12 string instrument, and is very old...it originates from the alaude and other renaiscance instruments...its a very very old instrument, whose crying sounds are perfect to sing the fado, and provide the right tone and nostagia, which is what FADO is good about...to give you noble clean sadness and happiness....it's a heroes song too.
