mystery switch

I have a switch mounted on the overhead, above the 1/4 berth in my Catalina 27 which was repowered before my purchase, with a 3GM Yanmar. When I flip the switch there is a whirring sound....could it be an electric fuel pump, I see an inline small cylinder looking thing with power to it in the fuel line. For bleeding? Not a clue when it comes to diesel.
Love the extra HP though.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

A whirring sound?
sounds like a blower to me.
If you don't have one, you should.

If you don't know what it is for, how do you know you don't have one?

He will break soon. We all know where he is going. I wager 20 minutes from his last post.
