Thumbs up Artemis Transat Lots of Pics!

The artemis transat (solo transatlantic race) finished up recently and the boats happen to be down at Rowes Wharf! I had my crappy camera with me so I took some pics. They aren't the greatest quality but he still fun to look at

Nice pics merlin. But this question begs to be asked . . . did you inquire about crewing with any of them?

Actually, one of the guys happened to be out doing something on his boat. I told him that I had my own PFD and was "willing to learn" anything but it didn't seem to take [g]. I guess another time

Aviva lived in my marina for a long time...

all tests, including capsize were done there, in front of us.

Back then, no photo policy was in effect...

Good job onthese Merlin

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed

One thing I noticed that was interesting was the pink boat had the boom on track that went in a horseshoe around the boat. Wonder why that is? Is that just a really long traveler? If you look at either of the pics you can see it go all the way around.

Yes, just a long traveller that goes around in the same radius of the boom, so when the boom goes out or in, no need to adjust the main sheet..

In the old days, of the 12M the America's Cup boats had that too, mear the mast.

Yep, that's what it is. I have one of those on my Tayana also. I also have one of those walk-in BBQs that you see on the stern of Aviva. I keeps you out of the rain while you're grilling. Got the idea from CD.
