Today was a beautiful day low 70s and a 10 to 15kt southerly breeze. So I decided to take my boat out and the admiral(who is scared to sail)wanted to go. .That decided it!! When I got to the marina I loaded the cooler grabbed the sun block for my wife and loaded the boat. I double checked all systems and away we went..
When we got out into the bay the wind just died. I pointed up and raised the main and jib.we just sort of drift sailed(for lack of better words)at maybe 2kts.Then I looked to my south and you could see the wind coming

so I told the admiral to hang on!!..the sails filled and it was an instant of wham, trim and zoom!!!I loved it !! The instant heel freaked the admiral and I had to look up and say "It's fine dear" the she calmed down and really enjoyed the sail. We went about 7 miles into the bay and just played in 15 to 20kts winds with some cool gust for excitement..
The seas were running 2 to 3 feet when I pointed her up to take in sail. All was fine them the jib halyard managed to tangle it's self around my deck light on the front of the mast. NOT GOOD!

By this time the admiral was freaking again trying to hold her in the wind while I fought the jib. At that moment I realized Mr Murphy had stowed away upon my ship

) I managed to wrap the head sail around the head sail and lash it off with a gasket. Then I made my way back to the cockpit and reassured the Admiral all was fine. I motor sailed under the main and let all my senses return. I then brought in the main and headed to the harbor.
I am in the channel entering the harbor when it struck me I was going to have to dodge a power boat. The entrance to the harbor is about 100 ft wide and a 60 ft Pacemaker with traffic coming(me ) backs away from a dock at that time the wind caught his bow and swung him sideways in the channel so instead of correcting he guns it..Meanwhile I am saying oh s@&t!!! I had my boat as far right in the channel as possible in a point of no return for reverse or forward he either hits me and pins me to the dock or I hit the dock to miss him. The wife hollers to him to turn his bow right he looked right at her and said F#&* You I draw 5 ft I need the channel.....I am all but about to go ballistic as I managed to slide between him and the dock..I looked at him and said why?? I got the same reply screw you buddy I'm bigger and this was from his obvious muscle man of a first mate....what A$$ holes..almost ruined a beautiful day..
As I sit here and try to chill at home in the air condition with a sierra mist in my hand all I want to do is rant because Murphy was on my boat and I had a run in with an idiot that had no clue of the rules of the road...amazing..Would anyone care to let Murphy stow away on their boat next time ?? I am tired of his company

..thanks for allowing my rant!
