Blame it on the youchoose.net poll at the bottom of each page. It takes up some serious bandwidth each time a new page is loaded.

You could always add youchoose.net to your hosts file and point it to 127.0.0.1

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I am also experiencing very slow loads due to youchoose. How do I stop it?

Are you just going to leave that hanging there or are you going to explain just what the hell you're talking about?

On most modern operating systems, there is a file called hosts, and it allows you to statically define certain DNS entries...by pointing youchoose.net to 127.0.0.1, which is the local loopback address of your computer, you'll remove the delay and won't see the survey, speeding up your computer's loading of the sailnet webpages, since it won't have to wait for the youchoose.net servers to respond.

Yep, using a local host file is a web testers hack that works well. You could also enter the actual IP address of that server into the file and it'd load instantly.

I null-routed youchoose.net as soon as it appeared. That thing made this site annoyingly slow.

As far as the server issues: It's happened a couple times the last couple days. Acts like backend database problems.
