Fire at my Marina

Quote:
LAKE MEAD, Nev. -- Three boats were destroyed and two more were damaged after a fire broke out at the Lake Mead Marina.Around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, employees saw the fire on dock B. By the time the blaze was extinguished, slips 78, 79 and 80 -- and the boats in them -- were destroyed. Two more boats near the fire were also damaged.Crews are still trying to determine the cause of the fire, but said there were no injuries reported at this time.
I just read this, havent checked on mine yet (im in slip 54)and no call from the Marina(they usually call when something is wrong)

Hope your boat's all right BJ - but if you were downwind of the smoke and fire, chances are you at least will be greeted by black fiberglass soot all over your decks.

Well.... your boat is probably going to need a good cleaning. Hope everyone else is okay. Hope they had insurance too.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Update

okay just went and checked on the boat. happy to say everything was okay. the fire was only 150' from our boat. others werent as lucky. i took a couple of pics with the cell phone.

This hydraulic lift box burned to the consistency of a grocery bag

this is whats left of a steel hull houseboat

this tragedy ruined alot of peoples memorial day weekend.
