Help w/info on sailing video documentary

Many years back I remember seeing a series of TV shows documenting a guy's sailing adventures. He was around 50, an Aussie I think, sailed a catamaran, and picked up different crew as he went (usually, younger attractive females). I also think he had a dog with him.

Does anyone out there remember these shows, what the guy's name was and/or if these ever made it to DVD.

Many thanks,
Mark

I know that guy! His horse was white and he wore a mask, right?

I remember that series - more like an amateur compilation of home videos - most with voice-overs, that stretched over the span of a few years. I think it was re-run on either the Discovery or Travel Channels . . . or Lonely Planet - don't recall.

As badly produced as they were, they were somewhat entertaining. My wife was drawn to them mostly, perhaps because the guy typically only wore a loin cloth, while sailing his schooner.

The name of that series escapes me, but will bug me all afternoon.

If you recall seeing SD as the star of a sailing video, clad in only a loin-cloth, it was probably in a Peep-show, down a narrow back alley in Chinatown.

I have it at home, a gift from a friend. I haven't seen it yet so can not remember the name. I'll look it up tonight.

If I had known about the younger female part I might have watched it earlier, all my friend said was be watchful more for what the guy didn't wear than for what he did.

There is another documentary that plays on the living channel now & then. I think the series name is the Endless Wanderer. The one I am referring to is about a Canadian Dentist ( I think ) that takes his family on a world cruise on there sailboat. I found it very entertaining.

Sorry for all the "I thinks" but I slept since I last saw it.
