Talking The weekend thread! June 7 and 8, 2008

Well another weekend is ALMOST upon us. It's supposed to be very toasty here this weekend.

Saturday will feature a 4 hour or so morning cruise around the harbor
Sunday racing all day out in the open water

Wind looks fairly flat, we'll have to see about that

SAT
S WINDS AROUND 5 KT...INCREASING TO AROUND 10 KT LATE.
WAVES 1 FOOT OR LESS.
SUN
SW WINDS 5 TO 10 KT. WAVES 1 FOOT OR LESS

Whatcha got planned? I am very excited!

I sail.

My inlaws are coming to town. The question is...what would I have been doing! I would have joined Sailortjk1 on a 40NM flotilla cruise North on Lake Michigan. Hoping to catch a few daysails at best.

I've got 2 folks from work (sailing newbies) coming up Sat for a nice, brisk sail in 15-25. It oughta be fun!

I want to work on my boat this weekend but is suppose to be near 100F. With a heart condition and that heat, I have to ask myself, how much am I really going to get done? So I think I will spend time with my kids ( 21 & 20 ) and work on the boat on Tuesday when the heat is suppose to break.

I'm on a forced holiday from sailing this weekend. My parents, sister, and brother-in-law coming to town to celebrate my birthday. (It's not til the 16th, but I told them if they came that weekend I would be on the boat and they would have to wave from shore!)

I'm working this weekend and although i'd rather go to the coast and work on the boat, i'll have to settle for the coast coming to me!

Check it out: Celebrate North Carolina’s rich coastal heritage and culture!

stop by and say hello if you are around!

I'm hoping to get the parts I need to start my last major project of the season... leading the lines aft. Once I get those parts, I can step the mast.

Probably be working on the boat Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
