From our paper. A lot of the same information, but not identical. It's interesting that the American article states it's on the south side of the lake, probably off Syracuse, but the Canadian article gives no real clues.

That's really kewl that a ship can be in that great a condition after so many years underwater. In effect I guess it was refrigerated.

The crew apparently lowered the upper masts for the storm; the lower sections are still intact. Fascinating.

Shipwrecks can be remarkably well preserved in deep, northern freshwater. It's not only the cool temperature but also the lack of oxygen at depth and fewer creatures than found in salt water.
