Went out today, perfect 10kt winds (getting a little gusty after 5pm). Here is a short video showing the difference between sailing inside and outside the Buffalo Harbor breakwall on a small boat. 6kts boat speed in both vids. There is a slight difference in angle, in the first part I'm just barely on a close reach, and the second part is just barely a beam reach. It was a fun daysail.
I found another couple problems, the cam cleat for the mainsheet will not hold when sheeted in close hauled, so that will need to be replaced, and I lost a batten. It was a little out of it's pocket and as soon as I turned into the wind to drop the main, fwooop! there it went. The P.O. modded the main with full length battens so I have to measure the pocket and get a new one. And I'm still fighting the furler, I think the big genoa is just too much for the wire furler, I NEED something like a CDI flexible furler.

I had a dream, I was sailing, I was happy, I was even smiling. Then I looked down and saw that I was on a multi-hull and woke up suddenly in a cold sweat. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
