Thumbs up

We're not renewing the lease on our slip at Pecan Grove Marina. A little pricey, but a great location and definitely worth a call.

We were able to watch all the fireworks last 4th of July from our cockpit, at the dock, sipping adult beverages.

As for clearance, there are no issues except for the 45' bridge. Bring your boat, we'll race!
Barring unforeseen events, I am pretty sure I will be there. We're gonna race? As long as it includes a stretch of water over a foot but under two I may have a chance.

Great! Now if Jacky and John make it then we'll have a sailnet meetup Oriental style. Too bad we don't have a grill on "At Last"... maybe we'll grill at the house instead. Looks like the weather is good but hopefully the wind will pick up a little. btw- I was just kidding about the racing part! I'm not big into racing... only do it on occasion.

I was kidding also; the only way I would have a chance is if I got you to run aground and in some circles that is considered playing dirty...

Assuming good weather and nothing unplanned comes up, it looks like I am going to head that way. How crowded does it get?

Well... i would expect it to be fairly busy on the water but not too crazy. Sat night is the busiest because of the fireworks but during the day the boat traffic isn't too much of an issue since there is plenty of room out there. It's probably the busiest week in Oriental though because of the Croaker Festival. As for getting around on the water: The only areas you really have to worry about are the point accross from the wildlife ramp... very shallow there... as well as the starboard side of the channel as you are going out into the Neuse River. I would imagine with your boat it won't be much of an issue though. I took our O'Day 22 in these areas all the time and we only drew 2'.
