Fred Fan Club

Fred's racing this weekend in the regional competition in Lisboa for "infantiles". (He goes up to the juniors, two years young, in October.)

I think that this race will be one of the final tune-ups for him as Nationals are in September. Fred is already qualified for Nationals by virtue of his accumulated points.

Give a pause and a prayer for good wind this weekend because OPTIMANIA is about to be unleashed once again. GO FRED!!!

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Fred,

I had a good time watching you at your club, wish I could have rode a boat out to watch you actually race up close. Having watched you and your team mates prep and sail I have to admit you are indeed a hard working and skillful lot.
Good luck, fair winds, and kick the crap out of the competition.
Chuck

chris_gee is on a distinguished road
From all acounts Fred is a charming and talented boy who shares his mother's good looks.
However there are many such fine young people.
I have some disquiet about such a thread and photo as over the top. Perhaps I have dealt with too many paedophiles.
Sure one can wish the lad well but a pm would more than suffice if one felt one knew him well enough.

Chris...Giu is well aware of the issues and was the one to originally post the photo. I'm sure he has thought this through and things may be a bi different in Portugal than here.
