Sailed on a Restored Tahiti 30 Ketch

Got a chance to go sailing on a Tahiti Ketch 30' out of Oyster Bay today. A good friend of mine works at the Water Front Center which recently restored this all wood boat to pristine condition. So far it has only been out twice since the restoration but we def. had fun today. Had some decent wind till we had to head in a little early when a thunderstorm came. Got to see some amazing sailboats though at Seawanhaka Yacht Club. It also felt cool having other boats sail up close to get a look at the boat we were on rather than the other way around. Took some pics. I love the black and white ones.

Just spotted this thread-- seeing the boat really took me back to my college days outside of Philly-boyfriends father built a tahiti ketch just like that-- I was instroduced to sailing big botas on that boat--sailed for a month on the cheasapeake and then spent next year cutting out dry rot and varnishing, varnishing, varnishing-- got real good with the palm sander...

Thanks for the trip down memory lane--cheers and fair winds

Ditto. I somehow missed it back in June.
