Finding a quiet place with no one noisy nearby, hooking up to some creek mud and nothing but boat maintenance and fooling around for the next two days.

TES...Congrats to you both. She must be an extraordinary woman to put up with you for 4 decades!
Had a pretty Tayana 48 pull into the docks here last night...made me a bit "homesick"! Lots more docking in the next couple of days here with a big fireworks show and a "Mayberry" 4th of July here in town. Should be fun!

Thanks Cam, she is. When we talk about how long we've been married she always says she remembers every day of it. Not sure how to take that. Have a great weekend.

Cruising LI Sound for the 4 day weekend. Spent last night in Smithtown Marina, going to have what will hopefully be an awesome sail over to Northport today where I will spend the night at the town dock. Wind is SW 15-25 and it will be right on my beam so I can't wait for that. Then spending Friday night anchored up in Oyster Bay for the big fire works show. Will head back east Saturday and prob spend the night in Port Jefferson Harbor and then finish it back up in Mt. Sinai harbor on Sunday. Loaded the boat up with two handles of Captain, tons of food and beer.

Congrats TES! We're not even to our 10 year and I forget more than I remember. I bet you remember the upcoming trip.

We'll be attending a lakeside party at a friends place on the 4th. On the 5th, we'll be racing in the 'First Annual Independence Cup' on the host's J/105. (Can they really call it annual if it's the first one?)

I bet Sunday will be spent unpacking boxes from our recent move...if we're able to get out of bed.

Happy Independence Day!

We will be living the American dream.

You know the one where you own your own business, make lots of money, take vacations whenever you want, sit back and relax while the bank account fills up.

and working shifts to let the employees have time off to spend with their families on holidays. Gotta keep the employees happy while waiting for the bank accounts to start filling up.

Since this will be my second weekend with my new to me boat, I'll be spending the day with the wife, cleaning, fixing and learning about the boat and it's systems. The fireworks show is across the harbor so we should have a good view, this will be our first night on the boat.

The big fireworks display in Chicago is on the 3rd, so we'll head downtown, drop the hook inside the harbor breakwater near the lighthouse, fire up the Magma grill and watch the fireworks from there.

Will sail as much as I can the rest of the weekend (but plan on seing Wall-E as well).

You are a braver man than I.
Never liked being outside the harbor for this one. Way toooooo many idiots out there. Have you tried to get a temporary can through Monroe Harbor. I know they sell out way in advance, but I would rather be inside on a can than anchored out with the crazies.
