Wwwhhhaaatttsss ggoooiinnggg oooonnnn

I have just tried 10 other websites and am opening them in a heartbeat.

Sailnet at this time takes me back to the dark days of dial-up connections - the site takes forever to open and even longer to navigate around.

Am I alone in this? Or is it no coincidence that there are no other members logged on?

By the way, this thread was posted in July 2008

Mine just loaded right away. No where near what we were dealing with a couple of weeks ago.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

It might be the routing by your ISP.

If you're curious, (the following is for XP) Push Start, Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt.

This will give you something like C:\>

Right behind that type in: "TRACERT www.sailnet.com" (without the quotation marks)

This will tell you how long each step takes to get from your computer all the way to Sailnet.

Then try a website that is faster for you, and have a look at the difference in routing. If it's really agonizingly slow, you can email your ISP with the TRACERT data (copy and paste) and complain. Sometimes they can fix it, sometimes not.

btw, I've had a little trouble with it being slow the last couple of days.

DSL is like the broadband version of Dialup. I'm glad I'm on a 20 Mbit fiber-optic connection.
