Is it just me?

Sailnet seems very slow, especially on initial log in and especially in the morning. I'm not getting this problem on cruisersforum and elsewhere so I skip over sailnet when it won't load up. I'm probably spending 10% of the time I used to spend here.

I agree, other forums are much faster. It may be the server they are on, but I often get a 10 second or so freeze in the mornings, when trying to quickly read post.

Come on, be honest, that is because of that pretty new boat!

RestlessWind is on a distinguished road
I am finding that if I just read the posts as a lurker without signing in, there is no delay, but once I sign in, things really slow down.?

One of the big slow-downs, I found, is the sites use of Google Analytics. I've now got goggle-analytics.com black-holed on my systems. Then there's something else that's trying to load up, from sailnet.com space, that takes forever-and-ever, too. I just wait until the page looks like it's all loaded-up and hit "Stop" or the Esc key. (Using Thunderbird or Mozilla.)

Other times something else is going on. Don't know what. Ping times to the site are good, but it just takes a God-awful long time to load pages. I figure it's server load or backend database issues.

Yesterday (I think it was) morning, it just wouldn't load at all for me for the longest time.

Hey, it's free. Hard to complain about free

Jim

It has been pretty responsive for me the last few days. I am using a MacBook laptop. I wonder if that makes a difference?

Somewhere around 3am, est, it really slows right down. You can wait three minutes for it to post your reply, for instance. Around 5am it starts to pick back up sporadically. I always just figured that the system was translating the previous days posts into comic book format so CD could follow along with the big kids.

Aw shucks, I'm blushin

Working furiously on the boat so I have less time to sit and wait for pages to load.
I get instant page loads on cruisers forum. If it wasn't for you swell bunch of AFOCs, I'd never be back. As it is, I am spending more time there than here.
Anybody in management listening? Care?
