Buddy, can ya spare a PFD?

Hi all

I hope this is not an inappropriate post, but my twin niece and nephew (aged 4) will be coming to Chicago next Monday and Tuesday (the 28th and 29th of July) and I'm hoping to take them for a sail. I'd rather not have to buy two child-size PFDs (they weigh about 30-35 pounds) for only a single use (my 19 and 16 year old sons wear adult size and I don't plan on further maximizing my reproductive fitness). is there anyone out there in the Chicago harbors who wouldn't mind letting me borrow one or two of their kiddy-sized PFDs for those two weekdays? I'll be happy to pick them up and bring them back to you, and buy you a beer or two into the bargain.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Check with your harbor master and or Coast Guard Aux Unit. The Coast Guard sponsors a lend a life vest program - all that is required is your license, phone number and address. (maybe in conjunction with BoatUS - but your local harbor master will hook you up).
