Thanks, Cam! My 32 yo son had flown over from Houston for a bonding sail w/ the old man. We'd gone out Tuesday morning, sailing over to Savannah and south for a night at sea in perfect conditions. Came back up to Savannah on Wednesday in growing winds and seas, but still managable. After a night on the hook on the Savannah River, we headed out Thursday morning to head back up to Beaufort, SC. We could have gone up the ICW, but that just didn't sound like much fun. I've been in 18-20' seas and up to 75 knot squalls in a 36' in Antigua, so this sounded doable. While we both slept very well that night on the hook, we wouldn't have missed it for anything. Finished up with a short run on Friday morning, again motoring, to wrap it up. We did have the advantage of being only a few miles out, for the most part, and there were two of us. But a memorable trip all the way around. We were on a 2006 Dufour 325, and she performed beautifully.
