I acquired a 16' Prindle but was surprised to find how heavy the mast was and the difficulty to set it. Is there a technique for setting it alone? Even my friend and I could not do it together, but then, we're old.
make a tabernacle setup for it.
Some one here laid his boat on its side and then just slid the mast in horizonally. Much easier then trying to hold it vertial and place in that small hole.
Or you could rig shear legs and hoist the mast up. A standard method a couple of centuries ago, still used today in many areas. Though some use small cranes or gin poles.
Oh! Old has nothing to do with it. But smarts does.
