Heading for the North Carolina Coast

Hi,
In celebration of our final child heading to college, the wife and I are planning to head to the coast in September after Labor Day. I thought this would be a great opportunity to meet some Sailnet Members and further introduce my wife to sailing. If you haven't read or don't remember my other post, we are planning to start cruising late 2009. We haven't picked a boat yet and are still in the planning stages, we want to pay off the house first. Anywho, we would like to meet fellow Sailnet members during the trip. Our schedule is open as is the location as long as there is water and sand. Please let me know if anyone is going to be on the coast during the month of September and if they would like to have a visit. Not necessarily looking for a ride, just wishing to introduce my wife to the life, she is warming up nicely to the idea and is becoming anxious but leary which is good, meaning she has her eyes and mind open. Oh by the way, my wife is Korean and loves to cook so I am sure she would love to cook us up a meal.

Oriental is the main sailing venue, and you won't find much sand there. For that you'll want the Outer Banks. Beaufort/Morehead City is good for heading out to open water, as well as Wrightsville Beach near Wilmington.

I'll probably still be in New Bern then, and you're welcome to stop by.
