Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Boat show
Was in Rockland, Maine today at the boat show. There were a few companies there with sailboats; Morris was well represented with a 46CC, plus a couple of others, saw one Island Packet, there was a Hunter 31, and a few others. But, mostly it seemed the focus was on powerboats.
Even some of the premier sailboat companies of Maine, like Sabre, Lyman-Morse, and even Hinckley didn't represent in this sailing mecca (with the small "m")...only showing their powerboats (which looked very nice, as one would expect).
Being a Maine resident with a love of sailing, I was very much hoping to see some other examples of the fine tradition of Maine sailboat making. Kind of disappointed, overall.
Just surprised that in Maine, of all places, Maine companies did not display their full plumage. Bummer.
Anyone else venture up? If so, what were your thoughts on the show, overall?
