Crewing on a square rigger

My daughter graduated from a college in Erie, PA this past June. For two years she volunteered helping out with chores on the US Brig Niagara (US Brig Niagara & Erie Maritime Museum | Home). I guess for every set number of hours you volunteer to help out there you get an hour of tuition on sailing her. Well she's got over 10 days tuition from what I understand. So on Monday afternoon she met up with the ship at port in Wisconsin and I guess she'll be crewing on it until something like Sept 3rd.

Am I green or what????

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I lent her my camera and 2 sets of batteries. When she gets back I'll post a few.

Sounds like a great and well earned adventure! Rich - where are you in S. NH? I grew up on the huge expanse of the NH seacoast.

Opposite side of the wide end - I grew up in Stratham, on Great Bay, sort of between Portsmouth and Exeter.
